HealtheConnections Honored with the Onondaga County Medical Society’s Highest Distinction

Each year, the Onondaga County Medical Society recognizes one organization or individual for distinguished service to area patients, physicians, hospitals and the general public. HealtheConnections is proud to accept OCMS’s Distinguished Service Award for 2019.

“The awards committee wished to especially highlight HealtheConnections’ transformative role in how healthcare is delivered in our community,” said Erika Barry, Executive Director of the Onondaga County Medical Society.

HealtheConnections and OCMS have been close partners since its inception, working together to build connectivity, improve interoperability, and support healthcare providers with technology and services that enable them to give optimal care to their patients. In Onondaga County and the surrounding counties of the Central New York region, more than 90% of licensed providers are contributing and sharing data. Due in part to the support and collaboration of regional medical societies and their members, HealtheConnections has quickly grown to one of the highest-performing Regional Health Information Organizations (RHIOs) in New York State.

2019 marks HealtheConnections’ 10th year of operation, as well as a recent expansion to a 26-county service area. President and CEO Rob Hack acknowledges it as a year of progress and opportunity with a renewed commitment to mission.

“On behalf of our team, Board of Directors, participants and stakeholders, we are honored and humbled,” said Hack. “We appreciate the Society’s recognition of the important mission we serve through collaboration with all our healthcare and community-based participants.”
